Alok is youngest son of Shri Bal Govind Singhal.
Well, no one can write about everything they got from their parents. Words are too short to express how much parents care for their children. I have got tremendous support from my father at each and every step of my life.
My father once told me that my birth got him promotion at work. When I was child he always defended me when mummy scolds me. Whenever mummy and papa goes to shopping, I was the one who was accompanied with them being the youngest and most pampered child, keeping my brother and sister waiting for our return. I feel like superman when the winds cross my hairs standing at front on scooter. As I was well protected by my father's strong hands on both sides, I wave my body without any fear on each road turn. Those days were awesome!!!
When we relocated to our own home in Sahibabad, he got transferred. To bring stability in our studies and keeping his transferable job in force, he decided to live alone at Mathura and visit us at weekend or sometimes fortnight. At that time I was too small to imagine the life when one can not return to his family daily, but now I know how difficult it is to live away from home. All this was done for us to study well and make our career.
Whether it was toys or clothes, I was the one who had the most. From second standard itself, I wish to roll on skates and play musical instruments. In third standard, papa bought me roller skates. I remember breaking the drinking water pot when I got uncontrolled taking a thrust from two sofas. At that time I don't know how to use the brakes provided in front of skates. Well from "brakes" another incident clicked my mind. In fourth standard when I got bicycle. It was the first day I was riding it directly on street encircling many houses including ours. After completing three rounds with slow pace, I was very confident that I can ride the bicycle like Arthur Spencer world champion. But, I have still not learned how to apply brakes :) And guess what, I hit right between the legs of an old lady carrying a jug full of milk crossing the road just in front of her house. And, then after hearing a dozen curse words, I slipped from there before that lady could catch me to beat leaving my new bicycle there. My elder brother was coming from the same road and as always he asked sorry for my deed and brought my bicycle back.
After scoring distinction in ninth standard, my father gifted me guitar which became my passion in schooling days. My elder brother feared that this will distract my studies, but my father and sister supported me again. He accepted mine and Deepika's relation and made all the arrangement for our marriage after convincing her parents and gave his blessings to us happily.
I feel really lucky to have him as my father...Love you papa!!!
